Hedyotis chrysotricha (Palib.) Merr.
A new β-carboline alkaloid designated as chrysotricine was isolated from Hedyotischry sotricha. Its structure was elucidated by UV, IR, MS, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, and X-ray diffraction analysis. Chrysotricine exhibited inhibitory activity against the growth of HL-60 cell in vitro.
Hedyotischry sotricha, Herbs, perennial or perhaps annual, procumbent, usually regularly rooting at nodes, to 40 cm; stems weakly 4-angled, flattened, or terete, sometimes 2-sulcate, moderately to densely hirtellous to pilosulous at least along grooves, sometimes glabrescent, trichomes often drying yellowed. Leaves subsessile to petiolate; petiole 1-3 mm, moderately to densely pilosulous to hirtellous; blade drying thinly papery, lanceolate, lanceolate, elliptic.
