Chinese Traditional & Herbal Drugs, 2012, 43(1):38-42. | Chemical constituents from Dysoxylum lenticellatum.[Reference: WebLink] | To study the chemical constituents from the stems of Dysoxylum lenticellatum and their cytotoxic activities. METHODS AND RESULTS: Silica gel,RP-18,and Sephadex LH-20 column chromatography techniques were used for separation and purification of the compounds and extensive spectral analysis spectra were employed for structural elucidation. The cytotoxic activity was evaluated by MTT method. Twelve compounds were isolated from D.lenticellatum and their structures were identified as β-sitosterol(1),stigmasterol(2),3-oxo-24,25,26,27-tetranortirucall-7-ene-23(21)-lactone(3),3α-hydroxy-24,25,26,27-tetranortirucall-7-ene-23(21)-lactone(4),Laxiracemosin H(5),laxiracemosin B(6),24,25-epoxy-tirucall-7-ene-3,23-dione(7),butyrospermol(8),oleanolic acid(9),taraxerone(10),taraxerol(11),and 8-hydroxy-6-methoxy-3-pentylisocoumarin(12). CONCLUSIONS: All of these compounds are isolated from D.lenticellatum for the first time and the compounds 8,10—12 are reported from the plants in Dysoxylum Bl.for the first time. What’s more, compounds 5 and 6 are tirucallane-type alkaloids and compound 3 shows significant inhibitory activities against human cancer cell lines in vitro. |
