Wherever possible, you should prepare and use solutions on the same day. However, if you need to make up stock solutions in advance, we recommend that you store the solution as aliquots in tightly sealed vials at -20C. Generally, these will be useable for up to two weeks. Before use, and prior to opening the vial we recommend that you allow your product to equilibrate to room temperature for at least 1 hour.

Laccase-catalyzed oxidation of 1-(3,4-dimethoxyphenyl)-1-propene using ABTS as mediator.[Reference: WebLink]

METHODS AND RESULTS:
The fungal laccases catalyzed oxidation of 1-(3,4-dimethoxyphenyl)-1-propene (2) with dioxygen in acetate buffer (pH 4.5) producing 1-(3,4-Dimethoxyphenyl)propane-1,2-diol (4) and its 1-O-acetyl and 2-O-acetyl derivatives 5 and 6, and 3,4-dimethoxybenzaldehyde (7). However, in phosphate buffer (pH 5.9), the same reaction produced only 1-(3,4-Dimethoxyphenyl)propane-1,2-diol and 7.
CONCLUSIONS:
When 1-(3,4-Dimethoxyphenyl)propane-1,2-diol was treated in the same fashion in the phosphate buffer, it was converted into 7 with more than 95 mol% yield.
