3,5-Dihydroxy-4',7-dimethoxyflavone shows antioxidant activity, it also shows significant activity against Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli with minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) at 200 ug/ml and 225 ug/ml, respectively.

International Journal of Pharma & Bio Sciences,2012, 3(4): 631-7. | Chemical and biological studies of Zingiber phillipseae rhizomes extract[Reference: WebLink] | A novel flavonoidic compound, 3,5-Dihydroxy-4',7-dimethoxyflavone, has been isolated from the rhizomes of Zingiber phillipseae.
METHODS AND RESULTS:
The dichloromethane extract of this species was shown to be non-toxic with LC50 for acute and toxic levels at 9,732 ppm and 562 ppm, respectively. The extract showed higher antioxidant activity than the standard (butylated hydroxytoluene, BHT) but lower than dichloromethane extract of Zingiber officinale. It showed significant activity against Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli with minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) at 200/g/ml and 225 /g/ml respectively. Both extracts were found negative toward Candida albicans. |

However, if you need to make up stock solutions in advance, we recommend that you store the solution as aliquots in tightly sealed vials at -20C. Generally, these will be useable for up to two weeks. Before use, and prior to opening the vial we recommend that you allow your product to equilibrate to room temperature for at least 1 hour.

The packaging of the product may have turned upside down during transportation, resulting in the natural compounds adhering to the neck or cap of the vial. take the vial out of its packaging and gently shake to let the compounds fall to the bottom of the vial. for liquid products, centrifuge at 200-500 RPM to gather the liquid at the bottom of the vial. try to avoid loss or contamination during handling. |
