Planta Med. 1998 Jun;64(5):479-81. | Bioassay guided isolation of a new C18-polyacetylene, (+)-9(Z),17-octadecadiene-12,14-diyne-1,11,16-triol, from Cassonia barteri.[Pubmed: 17253268] | METHODS AND RESULTS: A novel C18-polyacetylene, (+)-9( Z),17-octadecadiene-12,14-diyne-1,11,16-triol(9,17-Octadecadiene-12,14-diyne-1,11,16-triol), has been isolated from the ethyl acetate extract of Cassonia barteri (Araliaceae) leaves collected in Cameroon. The structure determination was achieved by NMR, mass, IR, and UV spectroscopy.
CONCLUSIONS:
The new polyenyne shows antibacterial activity against Bacillus subtilis and Pseudomonas fluorescens, antifungal activity against Cladosporium cucumerinum, moiluscicidal activity against Biomphalaria glabrata at low concentrations, and in addition it possesses haemolytic activity. |

The packaging of the product may have turned upside down during transportation, resulting in the natural compounds adhering to the neck or cap of the vial. take the vial out of its packaging and gently shake to let the compounds fall to the bottom of the vial. for liquid products, centrifuge at 200-500 RPM to gather the liquid at the bottom of the vial. try to avoid loss or contamination during handling. |
