Australian Journal of Chemistry,1979,32(8):1827-1840. | Alkaloids of Bellendena montana[Reference: WebLink] |
METHODS AND RESULTS:
Fourteen alkaloids have been isolated from Bellendena montana,a monotypic proteaceous plant endemic in Tasmania. The structures of ten of these, Bellendine (1), isoBellendine (2), darlingine (3),5,11-dihydroisoBellendine(5), 2,3-dihydroBellendine (6), 2,3-epidihydroBellendine (7),
2,3-dihydrodarlingine(8), 3α-acetoxy-6β-isobutoxytropane (9), 6β-acetoxy-3α-isobutoxytropane
(10) and 3α-acetoxy-6β-hydroxytropane(11), have been established.
| Phytochemistry,1971,10(2):475-477. | Methyl (p-hydroxybenzoyl) acetate and an alkaloid, bellendine, from Bellendena montana[Reference: WebLink] |
METHODS AND RESULTS:
The previously unreported methyl (p-hydroxybenzoyl) acetate, and the first alkaloids from the Proteaceae, have been isolated from the flowers of Bellendena montana. The major alkaloidal constituent, Bellendine, was obtained crystalline and characterized spectroscopically. |
